چکیده
Introduction. The calcaneus is a tarsal bone which plays major role in transferring weight from the lower leg down through ankle joint onto forefoot and toes. It participates formation of outer inner longitudinal arch foot has significant walking body weight. Calcaneal fractures most often occur by jumping, falling height, or less often, traffic accidents. can be extra-articular intra-articular. Intra-articular entirely damage surfaces, results deformity immobility foot. They intraarticular, when disruption entire articular deformity, weakness occur. Case report. This case report presents 40-year-old male with an intra-articular calcaneal fracture. He was injured height 3 meters sustained fracture type IIIAB where one line went laterally other centrally over posterior facet. Surgery performed on sixth day after injury. prepared locking plate for adapted fixed spongy screws relatively preserved fragments: sustentaculum tali, tuberositas lateralis calcanei tuber calcanei. In this way, we ensured position repaired fragments, then placed 4 more inside healthy tissue, enabled use plate. With procedure, axis, i.e. varus width, length angles (Bohler's Gissane's angle) were corrected. From one, patient started to move his toes, third began walk help props no support leg. Conclusion. preoperative value Bohler's angle correlation between severity injury displacement fragments fractures. goal surgery restore facet, avoid soft tissue infection form normal shape

PURPOSE To evaluate the clinical outcomes of locking calcaneal plate in treating calcaneal fracture (Sanders II-III) in elderly patients. METHODS From October 2012 to December 2013, 23 elderly patients suffering from calcaneal fracture (Sanders II-III) were treated and followed up. There were 15 males and 8 females with the mean age of 68.5 years (range: 65-79 years). According to Sander's cl...
متن کاملCalcaneal Osteosarcoma; a Case Report
Osteosarcoma of the foot is rare and, when presents, commonly observed in adults. We report a case of osteosarcoma of the calcaneus in an 11-year-old girl who was presented with a 4-month history of pain and swelling on her left ankle and inability to walk in her left lower extremity. On examination, there was a diffuse swelling involving her left ankle joint and foot. The radiograph showed sof...
متن کاملSanders type IIIAB calcaneal fracture without broken lateral wall
RATIONALE The calcaneal fracture without broken lateral wall is rare and the open anatomic reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) is necessary when the subtalar joint articular surface is broken and collapsed. PATIENT CONCERNS A 45-year-old male was admitted to our department with complaints of heel pain and swelling after falling down from 1-m-high stone. He was unable to bear weight on his ...
متن کاملA Novel Technique for Calcaneal Avulsion Fracture: A Case Report
Avulsion fractures of the calcaneal tuberosity constitute only a small percentage of calcaneal fractures. Avulsion fractures often occur in elderly women with osteoporosis. Various surgical methods are used in the treatment of this type of fracture. These include tension band wiring, suture anchor fixation, lag screw fixation, and TightRope® technique. In order to manage these fractures effecti...
متن کاملDistal radius nonunion after volar locking plate fixation of a distal radius fracture: a case report
We describe a 59-year-old man who had nonunion of a right distal radius fracture after volar locking plate fixation. He underwent open reduction and internal fixation with a volar locking plate system for a dorsally displaced, unstable distal radius fracture at a previous hospital 5 months ago. Radiographs of the injured wrist showed nonunion of the distal radius with 1.5-mm ulnar minus varianc...
